HOW TO BREW A GOOD CUP OF TEA.

Weighing:

According to Kangentu Inyingi (KTDA taste master) the best way to dispense tea is to weigh it. It is recommended to use 2.5 grams of loose tea    per cup of between 220-230millitres of boiled water. A teaspoon is used though it is not an accurate measure of gram, however it is used as an approximate measure.

Water:

Water for brewing of tea should be carefully considered. Impure water i.e. high concentration of chemicals will definitely impart the quality of the cup. It is therefore recommended to use tap bottled or filtered water .Do not use re-boiled water as much of the oxygen will disappear and end results flat brew.

  1. Heat fresh cold water to a boiling point.
  2. Warm the teapot by simply filling it with very hot water.
  3. Empty the pot and fill it with the boiled water.
  4. Put one teaspoonful of loose tea into a strainer or one tea bag for every cup of 220-230 ml.
  5. Add the boiled water into the cup.
  6. .Allow tea to brew for 3-5 minutes (for black tea)
  7. If necessary add hot milk and sugar to taste.

Enjoy the cup.

A sip should be able to trigger your senses. Just slow down, take a sip and observe the beautiful colours, the unfolding aroma as the tea steeps. Appearance is very much part of the experience. Try this aroma as it rises from the cup. Try to catch all this -But above all enjoy a cup of tea.
